125, Rue Montmartre was an emotional hardcore band from Bielefeld, Germany that existed between 1998 and 2000. The vocals were performed by Kerstin Lienen; really nice soft to hard style singing, some of its in German, but that's not a problem. This EP is an excellent European style emo album, a terribly underrated and overlooked area of an already quiet genre. Disco Hijack has no reason to be that funky. Safari is such a fucking jam though. That guitar is angelic. The whole production is shoddy, but heavenly - sounds like it was recorded in a college dorm. For some reason Fleetwood Mac comes to mind, despite this being an emo album, not folky or anything, just adherent to pop harmonies - not a bad thing, this release is still plenty noisy, and manages to be quite original.
