Daft Punk - Discovery

Few albums are as consistently funky and fun as Discovery by the seminal duo Daft Punk. Their music has shaped a new generation with an attraction to digital music production and raves. This album is in many ways the very foundation that culture is built on. And yet, Daft Punk operates on their own terms, with their own style and creativity. Discovery is a collection of heavily sampled disco songs transformed into a high flying space adventure filled with constant energy. They even made an anime movie to tie in with the songs, Interstella 5555 - each song goes with a scene in the film. It's so corny but so fitting, you can't help but love it. The music is dumbfounding on this release (just their second album!) and every song feels like it could be a single in it's own right. Yet the flow is unbeatable and the cohesiveness of the sounds operate so perfectly together. There's so much to offer in this album and most House DJ's probably swear by it in some fashion. This is one of those albums that I can listen to all day and not get bored. Every time I hear it, I hear something new I hadn't caught before. An absolute banger.
