Husker Dü - Savage Young Dü

Husker Dü was one of the figurehead bands of the American underground in the 80's.  Hailing from the Twin Cities, the Dü's would go on to write some of the most thundering alternative rock and indie songs to ever bless this earth. They helped bridge punk into new dimensions. This 69 song box set complies tracks, demos, and live digs from the band's initial wild days from 79 to 83, before joining SST and writing history.  The songs are exciting and the immense focus on harmony and perceptive lyrics is unheralded. Every member of the band is a star on this box set, it's nice to see Greg Norton get a little more recognition on these early tracks with his righteous bass. Bob Mould and Grant Hart shine, feeding off each other's energy; it's beautiful.  As a box set, this is everything; unreleased tracks and rare finds that any early punk fan ought to listen to.
